The Student Services and Advising Coordinator is the initial contact and liaison for student inquiries which involves anticipating and resolving problems related to practical experience requirements while adhering to the organization’s policies and procedures.
This position reports to the Associate Director of Practical Experience.
Please note this is a 15-month contract position to cover a maternity leave.
CPA Alberta has offices in Edmonton and Calgary and provides hybrid Telecommuting opportunities (working from home a maximum of 3 days a week).

- Prior experience in a similar role.
- A college or university diploma is an asset.
- Good working knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and databases.
- Excellent interpersonal and listening skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively both written and verbal.
- Proven ability to multi-task, prioritize and execute tasks while under pressure and maintain a high level of professionalism while constantly ensuring high quality of work.

What you will be doing
- Primary contact for the department’s fast paced and high-volume email accounts and phone line, replying to inquiries with advice and resources, which involves research and problem solving/critical thinking to best understand the true nature of the inquiry and provide the appropriate response. Escalate inquiries as appropriate.
- Responsible for maintaining candidate and mentor records, triaging, and coordinating administration of the practical experience reporting tool (PERT).
- Manage a high volume of work, ensuring to prioritize to meet service level expectations of external stakeholders.
- Maintain and update templates, FAQs, key contacts, and other documentation.
- Track emails and trends and send the data to the Practical Experience Manager and Director.
- Liaise with team members in outstanding issues related to candidates, mentors, supervisors, program managers and/or program leaders for missing information and/or further evidence or clarification related to the candidate's assessment.
