What's the Role:

Your experience as a Financial Controller ensures that statutory compliance, financial reporting, corporate governance, tax, compliance, and treasury functions are managed effectively. As a Senior Finance Leader in the Americas, you will collaborate closely with the Global Finance Leadership Team, Internal/External Auditors and provide essential support to the region's business leaders. You will spearhead the development of new processes for regional reporting, emphasizing strong internal controls and efficient financial management. In addition to standardizing communication processes and fostering cohesion among local business units, you will be responsible for negotiating terms with suppliers, banks, and other stakeholders. Your leadership will extend to managing treasury operations, financial and tax compliance, budgeting & forecasting, and team development.

Key deliverables include ensuring accurate and timely accounting practices, driving stakeholder understanding of financial performance drivers, and mitigating associated risks. Leading regional audits and enhancing internal control processes, you will cultivate a collaborative culture focused on quality and innovation within the finance team. Key Technical Criteria:

  • Degree in either Commerce, Finance, Accounting, or Business
  • Member of a professional accounting body – CPA or similar
  • Demonstrated 8 years of experience in finance or accounting, manufacturing or mining industry preferred
  • Experience in creating reports for ELT (Executive Leadership Team) and Board level consumption
  • Demonstrated experience with entities in various currencies
  • Fluent in both English and Spanish

This role can be based in Edmonton or Mont-Joli, Canada. (Hybrid role)
