About Working in Remote Camps

Our camps are in remote areas where staff live on-site with meals and accommodation included, on scheduled shifts. A typical shift is 20 days on at camp and 10 days off. Most camps offer individual accommodation, ensuite bathrooms, full meals, wifi, and health facilities. Camp staff work long hours, typically 10-12 hours per day, and overtime rates apply. Our camps are drug and alcohol-free, and all staff must complete pre-employment onboarding orientations.

The Janitor is responsible for camp cleanliness and sanitation.

Job Qualifications

• Minimum 1 to 2 years housekeeping or janitorial experience
• Great communication skills in English
• Team player with support and motivation skills
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Strong work ethic, ability to work independently and in a team
• Professional appearance
• Safe and responsible work practices
• Ability to collaborate respectfully with others

General Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide first-class customer service
• Clean office complex and modulars on site
• Sanitize and disinfect common areas, focusing on high touch points
• Sweep or vacuum stairs, mudroom, hallway, and entrances twice daily
• Ensure daily cleaning of bathrooms
• Replenish toilet paper, paper towels, and soap
• Remove garbage and recycling from common areas
• Assist Housekeepers with laundry on check-out days
• Continuous janitorial tasks to maintain cleanliness
• Participate in safety meetings; report safety hazards
• Assist other staff with various duties as needed

Physical Requirements

• Stand, walk, stoop, kneel, or crouch for long periods
• Repeat movements, including hands and wrists
• Lift, push, pull or carry up to 50 lbs
• Reach with hands and arms
• Operate janitorial equipment and tools
• Live onsite during scheduled shifts
• Work 12-hour shifts
• Be mentally fit to perform duties

Pre-employment Requirements

• Drug and alcohol clearance
• Site-specific and LandSea orientation and training
• Completed Health Questionnaire
• Valid Government issued identification
• Valid drivers license with clean abstract
• Two references from former employers
