Salary Range: $91,295.85 to $104,132.83 per annum (salary includes a 9.9% temporary market adjustment)

Hybrid Work Model
This position is located in our Victoria, BC office. You will have the opportunity to work part of the time on-campus and part of the time off-campus. Guidelines and requirements for in-office presence are determined by operational need and vary according to the unique needs of each business area.
We are seeking a Data Analytics Engineer to join our team in VICTORIA, British Columbia, Canada.
The Data Analytics Engineer reports to the Assistant Director, (AD) Solution Engineering within the Information Technology Services branch. Working with both internal and external providers, this position provides technical guidance, consultation, development and implementation to enable data analytics and insights across the enterprise. This position will develop and implement governance, standards and practices for the technology supporting analytics in the corporation. This position will also provide hands-on support to deliver the required data to the analytics team while remaining compliant to the corporation's responsibility to protect personal information. This position has broad technical expertise across multiple technology stacks related to data acquisition and transformation.
Must have
- Bachelor’s Degree in Software or Computer Engineering or related field required. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
- Demonstrated recent experience that includes: Data warehousing, database creation and on-going maintenance, and establishing Exchange-Transfer-Loads (ETLs) between data sources.
- Systems design, architecting and defining and implementing data strategy.
- Developing data models, data marts, and writing queries in an enterprise data warehouse environment including MS SQL Server and Oracle.
- Experience utilizing Microsoft Power BI.
- Experience in designing, developing, and managing data integration solutions using Azure Data Factory (ADF).
- Architecting, developing, and/or maintaining technical solutions in virtualized environments.
- Determining appropriate use of various problem structuring methods and statistical methods for sampling, distribution assessment, bias and error.
- Using programming languages, such as Python, Visual Studio (C#) for data transformation and automation tasks.
- Data validation, cleansing and normalization of structured dataset, performing data lineage and aggregation, data replication, and data manipulation.
- Leveraging large structured and unstructured data sources.
- SQL server tools such as SSRS and SSIS.
- Proficiency in using GitHub for version control, collaboration, and code management.
Nice to have
- Experience with data governance principles and practices, including data quality, metadata management, and data security.
- Experience with cloud-based data solutions, particularly Azure SQL Database and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
