We currently have an opening for a Maintenance and Manufacturing Engineering Manager, come grow with us!
Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Maintenance and Manufacturing Engineering Manager is responsible for overseeing the Maintenance and Manufacturing Engineer teams, while providing support to the wider Production team and working with design engineers to troubleshoot issues. This role will be essential in ensuring equipment is available to meet production forecasts by developing and maintaining a preventative maintenance system and by providing guidance and leadership in the event of non-routine maintenance issues. Additionally, the position will play a pivotal role in providing leadership and direction in the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives, as well as ensuring compliance with a variety of bodies such as UL, CSA, CE, ISO and MOL. This position will be located out of our Guelph ON location.

Key Responsibilities Include
Supervision of Team Members, Human resources and Training
- Conducts annual performance reviews
- Manages workload and assignments of team members
- Provide guidance and training for employees in the department
- Ensures the health and safety of employees
- Interviews perspective candidates for the department
- Monitors and manages employee conduct, time and attendance within the department
- Provides counselling and guidance for team members
- Develop and maintain preventative maintenance system
- Monitors and manages janitorial services- in-house and contract services
- Responsible for managing facility grounds, lawn maintenance, and snow removal
- Manages facility security systems
- Responsible for managing building maintenance requirements
- Ensures facility is in legal compliance with Ministry Orders/ requirements
- Ensures available equipment to meet forecasts
- Provide direction on breakdowns and lead non-routine maintenance issues
- Provide direction for non-standard processes and designs
- Support Health and Safety initiatives as required
- Provide leadership and direction in the implementation of CI initiatives (Solutions, Transformer)
- Evaluate and implement cost reduction where available
- Prepare justifications/presentation when required to all staff levels within the organization
- Review Quality data and look for trends and opportunities
- Maintain process documents (SPIs)
- Provide process training where required
- Represents ME and Maintenance (participant or leader) on assigned teams in a professional manner
- Manage capital budget for GUE
- Leads, plans and completes projects as assigned
- Diploma/Degree or Licensed Trade in related field. Manufacturing experience preferred
- Minimum 6-9 years of experience managing maintenance/manufacturing engineer personnel
- High degree of knowledge with ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite
- Familiarity with electronic and electrical circuitry, hydraulics, pneumatics, welding processes, strengths of materials, and basic chemistry
- Thorough understanding of Engineering Drawings
- Ability to be hands on to demonstrate processes and large equipment
- Proven ability to manage people in the Maintenance or Engineering fields.
- Previous managerial/supervisory experience
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations an asset
- P. Eng or recognized Trade Certificate
