Yard Worker

Role: Sunrise Poultry Processors Ltd is one of the top 25 Food and Beverage manufacturers in Canada, focusing on the process and distribution of quality products. We are looking for an experienced and qualified Class 1 driver/yard worker. The candidate must have time-management abilities, practice due diligence, and have a sense of accountability due to the day-to-day working environment involving minimal direct supervision.

Responsibilities

• Move trailers with birds on kill floor
• Ensure yard is clean and tidy: barrels, garbage, etc.
• Rinse down outside truck wash area, with extensive wash on Fridays
• Removal of mods and crates on live receiving dock after kill is finished
• Notify manager of any repairs needed in trailers as per drivers report
• Help with repair on small things on trailers, lights, etc.
• Clean and put away seasonal equipment
• Ensure all loaded trucks are in live haul storage building
• Check ventilation in trailers during winter climates
• Ensure sidewalks, stairs, and entrances are shoveled and salted as needed
• Install and remove seasonal tarps
• Operate forklift as needed (training will be provided)

Requirements

• Class 1 license
• Experience driving a forklift (certification is an asset, but will be provided)
• Able to work Monday to Friday (9 am – 5 pm)
• Must be available for overtime, if needed
