Job Purpose

The Carpenter/Cabinet Maker is responsible for performing carpentry or cabinet making work at the journeyman level.
Qualifications
- Must hold a Provincial Certificate of Qualification issued under the Apprenticeship and Occupational Certification Act as a carpenter or cabinet maker.
- Must have two years of experience.
- Must have a valid drivers license.
- Ability to attend work on a regular basis.
- Ability to perform the duties of the position.
- Good work record.
The Carpenter/Cabinet Maker is responsible for:
- Planning work and estimating time and materials
- Fabricating, repairing or installing cabinets, shelves, windows or doors
- Inspecting, renovating or repairing the interior or exterior of buildings
- Performing preventative maintenance
- Designing or building special applications for patient care
- Installing, finishing or repairing walls, ceilings, floors and fixtures
- Organizing or coordinating work
- Ordering and maintaining inventory and transporting materials
