Johnson & Johnson's Canadian Tax Team is seeking a Tax Analyst in Markham, Ontario. The Tax Analyst will be responsible for the tax compliance of Johnson & Johnson’s operating companies in Canada.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Preparing Canadian corporate income tax returns, T106 information returns, sales tax returns and non-resident withholding tax filings.
  • Supporting annual issue of T4A.
  • Supporting filing of R&D tax credit claims.
  • Assisting with government audits on income tax, sales tax, transfer pricing, non-resident withholding tax and R&D tax credit claims.
  • Calculating income tax installments.
  • Supporting annual update of transfer pricing reports.
  • Supporting sales tax administration.
  • Communicating with tax authorities to resolve ongoing tax matters and issues.
  • Keeping up to date on Federal and provincial tax legislation and rules to assess their impact.
  • Making recommendations on improvement and streamlining of existing tax processes.
  • Performing research and analysis on tax issues on an ad hoc basis.
  • Collaborating with business partners and participating in cross functional projects as they arise.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related discipline.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in Tax in a large multinational corporation or CPA firm is preferred.
  • In-progress or completed professional accounting designation.
  • Enrollment in or completion of CPA In-Depth Tax course is preferred.
  • Experience with TaxPrep Corporate Tax, SAP, Vertex and OneSource Tax Provision is preferred.
  • Intellectual curiosity and agile learning attitude.
  • Strong communication (verbal and written), time management, collaborative and prioritization skills.
  • Strong analytical skills and demonstrated learning agility is required.
  • Willingness and ability to travel between our Markham and Toronto offices as required.

The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/ performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis.
