The Role

We’re looking for Business Analysts who can deliver within Cognizant’s Five Pillars of Consulting Excellence: 1) Project Execution, 2) Expertise, 3) Business Development, 4) Practice Development, & 5) People Development. As a Business Analyst, this means creating high-quality client deliverables and taking ownership (with supervision) of producing client content and meeting client expectations; developing an expertise in your functional area, including obtaining certifications; contributing to Client Satisfaction and/or RFPs; supporting leadership and contributing to content development for service offerings; and participating in PeopleCare initiatives and exhibiting personal leadership at all times. Responsibilities

  • Work closely with Product Owners to understand requirements, drive the creation of user stories
  • Communicate, translate, and simplify business requirements to ensure buy-in from all stakeholders
  • Ensure knowledge transition to the development team and act as functional expert to clarify any functional doubts
  • Evaluate business processes, gathering detailed requirements and uncovering areas for improvement
  • Create detailed user stories and use cases
  • Document and communicate the results of the efforts to development team and upper management
  • Serve as a liaison between stakeholders and developers
  • Demonstrate newly developed features and enhancements to stakeholders
  • Assess change proposals and define solutions to help the organization achieve its goals
  • Discover, organize, and clarify business needs and review/produce specifications for change
  • Work with the Technical Analyst and development team to ensure that they understand the specifications
  • Conduct business process modeling and generate applicable scenarios for the technology functionality testing team
  • Knowledge of proper requirements specification and development, such as process/functional requirements definition methods, JAD/RAD sessions, use case development, process flow diagrams
  • Working knowledge of Agile and Waterfall Methodologies

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
  • 5+ years of experience in business system analysis
  • Proven experience as a BA in IT projects and supporting development and testing teams using Agile SDLC
  • B2B Integration experience involving multiple systems
  • System Analyst background
  • Hands-on experience working with:
    • creating XML/JSON Samples
    • Posting XML/JSON Requests
    • Receiving XML/JSON Responses
    • Acknowledgment (ACK) Messages
    • Negative Acknowledgment (NACK) Messages
    • Status Messages
  • Writing B2B System to System Scenario Flows

Work Authorization
