Summary
This Internship will be located in Mississauga, Canada. To be eligible, you must be in the area and able to commute to the office 2 days a week.
Guidewire Software is seeking a Summer Intern to join the team. Guidewire serves a global community of more than 350 insurers of all sizes and lines of business in more than 30 countries. Community feedback enables us to stay at the forefront of what is happening all over the P&C world and to incorporate insights into the design of our platform to be truly customer-centric.

The Role
As an Intern, you will work directly with members of the design team and partner with our cross-functional teams across engineering and product management. You will have the opportunity to learn our design process and uncover business requirements to design enterprise solutions. As part of the UX team, you will work on specific enterprise design challenges and participate in conversations with a diverse group of key business stakeholders as part of a productive, enjoyable, and collaborative environment. We would love for you to be familiar with design thinking, lean and agile approaches to creating software, and bring a commitment to continuously learn and improve.
To be considered you should be a student currently enrolled in a BS or MS program in Interaction design or HCI related field.
Desired Qualifications
- Passion for designing applications that balance user needs, business needs accounting for the various enterprise technological constraints.
- Demonstrated knowledge of design tools and research methods.
- Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
Core Responsibilities
As a UX/UI Designer, you will work with the team:
- To design simple and intuitive user experiences keeping the user personas in the middle of every design decision.
- On all aspects of design - IA, user journeys, wireframes, and mockups (based on previously established style guides).
- To partner on the user research activities - to conduct interviews, user journeys, and gather user feedback through usability tests.
- To contribute, manage and continue to build out our home-grown design system.
- To continue to be more proficient in Figma, our go-to design tool.
- Organize and maintain design assets, ensuring they are easily accessible and up-to-date.
