Position Overview
Calian is seeking a Research Technologist – Level 3. The individual ill be part of the Royal Military College (RMC) SLOWPOKE-2 nuclear reactor team and the Analytical Sciences Group (ASG). The work consists of receiving and analyzing samples from clients (internal and external) and reporting the results according to an approved accreditation standard.

Responsibilities
- Perform chemical and radiological analyses in a timely manner, consistently with established and approved accredited methods
- Perform calibration and quality assurance controls
- Report results in an appropriate format and in a timely manner
- Apply other principles of QA/QC to day-to-day tasks
- Perform related tasks in the laboratory with minimal supervision
- Maintain records and documentation (e.g., results, procedures, changes in procedures, file and sample names, etc.) in an organized manner, both on computer and in paper records
- Recognize and report deficiencies to improve in procedures and implement changes as required
- Track purchase orders and ensure the laboratory is organized and well stocked
- Community College of University (Bachelors) in a science related discipline
- Have experience with QA/QC and working with established and approved accredited methods
- 4-6 years of experience
- Must have safety training (radiation, biohazards, chemical hazards)
- You will be able to obtain a Government Security Clearance at the Reliability level
Security clearances
- A security clearance and/or vulnerable sector screening might be required for this position.
