We are looking for an experienced leader to join our Warehouse Team in our Surrey location. This team is essential in managing the inventory and movement of our products. The Warehouse Supervisor will ensure that the team operates efficiently. The successful candidate will be a well-organized team player who prioritizes safety while encouraging high-quality work. The Warehouse Inbound Supervisor plays a vital role in our operations by leading the inbound activities of the warehouse, from receiving and inspecting to safely storing goods. This position not only guarantees efficient shipment processing and accurate inventory records but also fosters a collaborative team environment. The Inbound Supervisor will inspire staff, uphold safety standards, and promote excellent communication across departments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inbound Operations Management:
- Oversee all inbound operations, including receiving, inspecting, and verifying incoming goods.
- Ensure timely unloading of shipments and proper documentation of all incoming deliveries.
- Manage inbound schedules, ensuring that staffing and resources are adequate to meet daily goals.
- Coordinate with purchasing and inventory teams to prioritize urgent deliveries and reconcile discrepancies.
- Monitor and track all inbound shipments and update systems for inventory accuracy.
- Inventory Control:
- Ensure all products are correctly labelled and stored in designated areas.
- Oversee the cycle counting process to ensure accuracy in inbound inventory.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies in received items, working closely with the inventory control team.
- Quality Control (QC):
- Oversee QC processes for incoming goods, ensuring all products meet quality standards before storage or distribution.
- Inspect inbound shipments for damages, defects, or quality issues and take corrective action as needed.
- Collaborate with the quality assurance team to ensure compliance with company and industry standards.
- Ensure that products are stored properly to maintain quality and prevent damage.
- Conducts regular inventory audits on QC inventory and works with the Quality Control Manager at Head Office to ensure that QC/Quarantine inventory is given a disposition and managed quickly and efficiently.
- Implement corrective actions as needed to address quality issues and prevent recurrence.
- Team Supervision & Leadership:
- Lead and supervise the inbound warehouse team, assigning tasks and providing direction daily.
- Train staff on proper receiving procedures, safety protocols, and company policies.
- Monitor team performance, providing coaching and feedback to improve productivity and accuracy.
- Ensure adherence to health and safety standards, conduct regular safety audits, and address hazards immediately.
- Manage staff schedules, including planning for absences and peaks in inbound volume.
- Process Improvement:
- Continuously review inbound processes to identify areas for efficiency improvements.
- Implement best practices for receiving, handling, and storing inventory to reduce waste and prevent damage.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., purchasing, inventory, quality assurance) to resolve recurring issues.
- Reporting & Metrics:
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as inbound cycle time, receiving accuracy, and damages.
- Prepare and present daily, weekly, and monthly reports on inbound operations.
- Use data to identify trends and implement corrective actions as necessary.
- Problem-Solving & Decision-Making:
- Resolve issues with inbound shipments, such as incomplete deliveries, damaged goods, or overages/shortages.
- Make real-time decisions to prioritize shipments and allocate resources to ensure operational efficiency.
- 3- 5 years of proven experience in warehouse operations leadership (as a manager or supervisor), focusing on inbound operations management.
- Strong technical warehousing skills (systems and equipment) and experience in inventory control.
- Strong understanding of quality control processes and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Leadership qualities with the ability to mentor, coach, and motivate a team.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and warehouse management systems.
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate or higher degree preferred
