Job Description
The Proposal Specialist is responsible for the bidding process regarding complex issues including IT services, solutions, design or manufacturing services. You will manage the bidding process from initial contact through contract signing, with emphasis on establishing the trading terms. You will validate and endorse the technical solution and signs off on bids and proposals.. You will report to the Manager, Proposal Development, North America and have a hybrid schedule working in Cambridge, ON.

Job Description
The Proposal Specialist is responsible for the bidding process regarding complex issues including IT services, solutions, design or manufacturing services. You will manage the bidding process from initial contact through contract signing, with emphasis on establishing the trading terms. You will validate and endorse the technical solution and signs off on bids and proposals.. You will report to the Manager, Proposal Development, North America and have a hybrid schedule working in Cambridge, ON.
Your Responsibilities
- Plan and delegate when possible to meet customer established timelines for approved project pursuits. This would include creating accurate budgetary ROMs with-in working days of opportunity identification including entire scope.
- Work with sales and channel (distributors) to strategize on opportunities as well provide input to increasing successes through the Win Strategy process.
- Support by contributing to training classes for the channel teams and Regional Proposal Specialists to increase their abilities to handle standard product quotes themselves, leaving only the most complex for the Proposal Development Team.
- Take all measures to ensure the successful outcome of the assigned projects
- Lead in both a commercial and technical environment.
- Employ commercial and technical skills and creativity to maximize RA profit and growth opportunities while negotiate internally and externally
- Maintain business tools daily as opportunities evolve.
- Build relationships with our important partners and integrators to be successful with integration of complete solutions.
- Be the technical expert for Medium Voltage Drives, Medium Voltage Motor Control Centers. Knowledge of Low Voltage Motor Control Centers is a bonus.
- Apply engineering skills to perform engineering analysis to help qualify our equipment in the application.
- Bachelors degree
- The ability to travel 10% of the time.
- +8 years of prior technical sales experience.
- Solid electrical background in Medium Voltage system (Low Voltage is a plus)
- Demonstrated customer (internal and external) relationship skills
- Experience with Prefabricated Modular Buildings, Single Line Drawings, motors, switchgear, transformers, and PLCs
- Excellent negotiation skills
