International Advertising Sales Manager

Required for The International Journal of Hydropower & Dams

This is a full-time role, leading Aqua-Media International’s Sales team in the sale of advertising space (mainly in print but also on line), and of exhibition space at international events. We are seeking an enthusiastic new leader for the team, who will also be a hands-on player within that team.

Ideally, we are looking for someone with: an interest and understanding of the need for renewable energy and water resources management; a friendly and outgoing personality; and, a strong aptitude for communicating with international people, and building up business relationships.

In the light of climate change and the global energy transition, the journal and associated conferences are in a strong position, and well respected for their content, so there is a clear message to deliver.

Experience in international sales (preferably in publishing), is important.

The Main Elements Of The Position Are

Promotion and sale of:

• display and classified advertisements in the (printed) bi-monthly International Journal on Hydropower & Dams, and our annual reference book;
• banner advertisements, industry guide logos and other options on the website;
• small box advertisements on technical maps and posters;
• exhibition stands and sponsorship for the company’s international events;
  
  

Input To

• marketing of Aqua-Media's activities;
• planning the content of promotional material;
• increasing the client base, through research and face-to-face meetings;
• overseeing the client database system (CRM), upgrading it as necessary; and,
• management of the international exhibitions.
  
  

We operate a hybrid system, with full-time people working a minimum of three days a week in the office (in Wallington, Surrey), and two days at home, so residency in the UK is necessary. Salary is negotiable based on experience, and a commission scheme is in place.
