Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Accountant to join our team. This role is responsible for day-to-day accounting duties and financial statement preparation. You will play a key role in maintaining order and transparency in the company’s financial operations.

In this position, you will prepare and analyze financial statements, reconcile balance sheet accounts, and manage bank reconciliations. The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, keen attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. A bachelor's degree in accounting and proficiency with accounting software such as Sage is preferred.

This position reports to the Manager, Accounting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and analyze accurate financial statements to ensure compliance with accounting standards.
  • Support month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Analyze general ledger account balances and prepare necessary reconciliations.
  • Maintain fixed assets continuity schedules.
  • Reconcile and manage bank and credit card transactions.
  • Assist with external audits and provide necessary documentation.
  • Support the preparation and filing of local sales tax returns and other compliance reporting as needed.
  • Collaborate with the accounting team to compile Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and other comprehensive financial reports.
  • Serve as back-up for accounts payable functions as required.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.


Qualifications & Skills:

  • Education: College diploma or university degree in Accounting (preferred).
  • Experience: Minimum 3-5 years in a relevant position
  • Solid knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and best practices.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite and Sage ERP.


Nice to Have:

  • Experience in managing financial reporting in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience in the telecom industry or familiarity with telecom-related financial processes.
