What You’ll Do:
- Safety Administration: WSIB paperwork and other safety-related documentation.
- Site Inspections: Conduct regular safety inspections to ensure compliance and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Employee Compliance: Monitor adherence to Maxan’s health and safety program, fostering accountability and awareness.
- Training Coordination: Organize and book in-house safety training to keep our team informed and prepared.
- Documentation Management: Track employee training certifications and ensure onboarding safety documentation is complete and recorded accurately.
- Regulatory Updates: Stay ahead of regulatory changes and recommend proactive measures to keep Maxan compliant.
- Risk Management: Identify, evaluate, and mitigate hazards and risks across the organization.
- Team Support: Be a resource for employees and management on safety-related concerns and initiatives.
What You Bring:
- Post-secondary diploma/certificate in Occupational Health and Safety.
- Additional H&S training (WHMIS, JHSC Certification, Working at Heights, etc.) is considered an asset.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to commute to various job sites.
- Strong knowledge of OHSA and workers' compensation legislation (preferred).
- Certifications in WHMIS, Working at Heights, and forklift operation are desirable (training available if necessary).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Outstanding organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Sharp problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Effective time management to meet deadlines.
- Independent and self-motivated, with a knack for prioritizing tasks.
- A team player who thrives in collaboration.
- Positive, enthusiastic, and resourceful, ready to tackle challenges with a can-do attitude.
- Ethical and trustworthy, with a high level of personal integrity.
