What You’ll Do:

  • Safety Administration: WSIB paperwork and other safety-related documentation.
  • Site Inspections: Conduct regular safety inspections to ensure compliance and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Employee Compliance: Monitor adherence to Maxan’s health and safety program, fostering accountability and awareness.
  • Training Coordination: Organize and book in-house safety training to keep our team informed and prepared.
  • Documentation Management: Track employee training certifications and ensure onboarding safety documentation is complete and recorded accurately.
  • Regulatory Updates: Stay ahead of regulatory changes and recommend proactive measures to keep Maxan compliant.
  • Risk Management: Identify, evaluate, and mitigate hazards and risks across the organization.
  • Team Support: Be a resource for employees and management on safety-related concerns and initiatives.


What You Bring:

  • Post-secondary diploma/certificate in Occupational Health and Safety.
  • Additional H&S training (WHMIS, JHSC Certification, Working at Heights, etc.) is considered an asset.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to commute to various job sites.
  • Strong knowledge of OHSA and workers' compensation legislation (preferred).
  • Certifications in WHMIS, Working at Heights, and forklift operation are desirable (training available if necessary).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Outstanding organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Sharp problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Effective time management to meet deadlines.
  • Independent and self-motivated, with a knack for prioritizing tasks.
  • A team player who thrives in collaboration.
  • Positive, enthusiastic, and resourceful, ready to tackle challenges with a can-do attitude.
  • Ethical and trustworthy, with a high level of personal integrity.
