Parent Family Advisory Network Facilitator

Bayshore HealthCare

Date: 1 week ago
City: Burnaby, BC
Contract type: Part time
The Bayshore Pediatric and Specialty Branch is a current provider of government funded in-home and community respite nursing program for children/youth and young adults with medically complex and fragile health needs in three of the five BC health regions, Vancouver Coastal Health, Fraser Health and Island Health.

We are committed to Person and Family Centred Care, an approach to care that consciously adopts the perspectives of individuals, families and communities, and sees them as participants as well as beneficiaries of trusted health systems that respond to their needs and preferences in human and holistic ways.

Person and family centred care requires that people have the education and support they need to make decisions and participate in their own care. It is organized around the health needs and expectations of people rather than diseases. We are actively forming a Parent Family Advisory Network (PFAN) for our branch to meet our goals of person and family centred care.

As part of this work, we are actively recruiting for a part time (2-4 hrs/week) Parent Family Advisory Network Facilitator who would provide ongoing oversight, leadership, support, and continuity to the PFAN. The PFAN Facilitator would have either relevant personal or professional experience working with the children/families with complex care, as well as the skills and leadership abilities to support a robust and engaged committee.

Key Responsibilities

  • Co-chairing PFAN meetings
  • Supporting the PFAN membership in creating attainable goals
  • Preparing the agenda, writing, and distributing meeting minutes in partnership with the PFAN co-chair
  • Serve as a liaison between the PFAN and branch leadership
  • Provide information about the PFAN to new or potential members

WORK ENVIRONMENT: We offer a flexible work environment with the opportunity for remote work; however, the successful candidate must be available and willing to occasionally meet in-person at the Burnaby, BC office.

Salary $24.00 - $26.75/hr

Experience Required

  • Post-secondary education, preferably in business administration or comparable experience
  • Minimum 2-3 years administrative experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Proficiency in virtual meeting platforms, particularly Microsoft Teams
  • Competency in Microsoft Office Suites
