The Contribution You’ll Bring To This Role

The Production Engineer at Hughes Safety Showers, NA, plays a pivotal role in supporting production operations and delivering high-quality products to customers. Reporting to the Senior Engineer, this role collaborates with cross-functional teams to resolve production challenges, improve efficiency, and ensure customer orders are fulfilled on time and within budget. This is a dynamic role that offers opportunities for professional growth and exposure to the wider executive team.

What You’ll Do At Justrite

  • Deliver monthly production output plans, ensuring customer orders are completed on time and within budget.
  • Collaborate with the operations manager and shop floor team leader to resolve daily production issues.
  • Create and manage work orders (W/Os) to align with shipping schedules and company requirements.
  • Identify and address material shortages to prevent production delays.
  • Prepare accurate job packs to guide production teams in meeting client specifications.
  • Communicate effectively with direct labor staff to address concerns, provide guidance, and ensure alignment with production goals.
  • Audit and close W/Os to maintain inventory accuracy, updating BOMs as part of standard procedures.
  • Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures, standard drawings, and BOMs to ensure a seamless handover to production teams.
  • Assist the CI (Continuous Improvement) team in developing and implementing solutions to enhance efficiency across the business.
  • Create detailed manufacturing drawings and BOMs based on approved designs when required.
  • Review Engineering Change Notes (ECNs) and update drawings to comply with recognized standards.
  • Support the engineering team by focusing on all projects related to process efficiency, first time engineering drawing accuracy and best practice development and continuous improvement

Your Skills And Expertise

To ensure your success from day one in this role, Justrite requires the following qualifications at a minimum:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or a related discipline preferred or experience.
  • Proven track record in a similar role with a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a high-variation, low-volume manufacturing environment.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of manufacturing techniques.
  • Strong organizational skills with a methodical approach and attention to detail.
  • Working knowledge of ERP systems and their integration with various departments in an engineered solutions business.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office IT tools, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Effective communication skills in both written and verbal communication formats across diverse audiences.
  • Advanced problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
  • Interest in leveraging new technology to optimize processes.
  • The ideal candidate will embrace collaboration, demonstrate humility and honesty, and consistently strive for excellence in team and business success

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

  • Certified SolidWorks Associate/Professional/Expert.
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks and familiarity with SolidWorks PDM.
  • Experience working in the petrochemical industry and with equipment for hazardous areas.
  • Advanced understanding of ERP systems.
  • Familiarity with SolidWorks PDM and DriveWorks.

Compensation

The position offers a competitive base salary ranging from $50,000 to $60,000.

Actual base salaries will vary and may be above or below the recommended pay range based on factors such as but not limited to location, relevant experience and performance. Additionally, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan to enhance their overall total compensation package when Justrite Safety Group and their business units achieve annual business and financial targets.
