Role Summary
Combine Cafe & Bar Shift Leader will report directly to the Restaurant Manager/Cafe Manager. The Shift Leader is responsible and accountable for the Front of House operations including training, inventory, scheduling, and supervision of all Front of House operations. Shift Leaders will be experts in our menu, how to best pair our diverse, well-curated mix of delicious food and beverage offerings while ensuring flawless service execution. As part of Combine Cafe & Bar, the Shift Leader will contribute to a positive and enthusiastic team environment focused on excellence.
Key Accountabilities
- Ensure excellent service levels are delivered to guests.
- Maintain equipment in safe working order, checking regularly and reporting faults.
- Address guest concerns and compliments promptly.
- Comply with Combine’s policies and regulations.
- Support shift management and run food during busy periods.
- Assist in all aspects of restaurant operations.
- Ensure adherence to food safety regulations and cleanliness standards.
- Perform monthly inventory and manage labor forecasting and scheduling.
- Follow proper closing procedures.
- Maintain up-to-date fire plan knowledge and WHMIS training.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma.
- Minimum five years supervisory experience in a full-service restaurant and bar.
- Eligible to work in Canada.
Skills and Abilities
- Superior communication skills and ability to coach and develop staff.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, customer service-oriented environment.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to use business software effectively.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
- Availability to work evenings and weekends as needed.
