Accenture is seeking a collaborative and results-oriented Category Captain (Procurement Category Associate Manager), to collaborate with external clients to develop and execute sourcing strategies related to Industrial Operations Maintenance & Services specific spend areas.

You will work with Fortune 500 clients to support each company’s business goals while achieving optimal pricing, quality and service levels. In this capacity, you will have substantial involvement in supporting sales and solution design and in helping procurement organizations expand their involvement and control of non-traditional spend areas.

The Work:

  • Pursue and develop senior level stakeholder relationships at priority accounts; support account stakeholder relationship plans.
  • Develop strategic category plans that identify cost/productivity improvement opportunities in spending across a wide array of leading companies.
  • Strategically and effectively manage all elements of interaction and collaboration, performance, risk and innovation, with third-party providers.
  • Lead strategic sourcing projects, including strategy development, supplier negotiation, award recommendations, business case presentations and supplier contract execution.
  • Provide industry and supplier research, market intelligence and financial analyses to clients.
  • Support development of market insights from cross-client sourcing activity and collaborate with the Procurement Category function.
  • Promote corporate objectives and change initiatives, ensuring that the sourcing team supports overall company direction and growth.
  • Actively manage agreements throughout its lifecycle from contract setup to administration, management, and termination.
  • Mentor sourcing team on stakeholder and project management, emphasizing collaboration, customer focus, delivery excellence, continuous improvement, negotiations, and contracting.
  • Develop client category structure for monitoring, tracking, and governance around spend and function performance to ensure stated contract benefits are realized and costs are transparent.

Here’s What You Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • At least 10 years of experience in consulting, sourcing/procurement/supply chain management function
  • At least 6 years of experience related to multiple sub-categories within the Industrial Operations spend area for Maintenance & Services.
  • Position could require travel of approximately 25% after initial travel of 50%

Preferred Skills:

  • Formal training and/or experience in strategic sourcing, negotiations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially PowerPoint and Excel
  • Exceptional track record of building relationships with stakeholders or customers resulting in high customer satisfaction
  • Ability to adapt to varied corporate cultures and organizational structures
  • Ability to act independently and interface with customers and suppliers via strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Strong ability to effectively manage in a matrix organizational structure working with multiple internal clients
  • Strong analytical, organization, time management and problem-solving skills
  • Well-developed, solution-oriented selling skills
  • Ability to drive transformational change
  • Excellent multi-phase project management skill

Compensation at Accenture varies depending on factors including office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. As required by local law, Accenture provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles in British Columbia as set forth below. Role Location: British Columbia. Annual Salary Range: $74,900 to $133,800.
