Registered Practical Nurses provide care to individuals who need assistance as they deal with the effects of aging, injury, surgery, or illness.

The Role Will Include
- Administering medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers.
- Monitoring and assessing residents' health conditions.
- Providing wound care and assisting with dressing changes.
- Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement care plans.
- Educating residents and their families about health conditions and treatments.
- Ensuring residents' safety and comfort.
- Documenting residents' health status and care provided.
- Responding to emergencies and providing immediate care as needed.
- Performing other clinical duties as required
- Experience in wound care, IV medications and re-sites, catheter care, compression/VAC, and ostomy care considered an asset
- Delegate as required within your scope of practice
- Diploma from a recognized RPN program or equivalent
- Registered Practical Nurse in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Experience in a long-term care or retirement home setting is considered an asset
- Experience as a visiting nurse, visiting registered nurse, visiting registered practical nurse, and/or community nurse is considered an asset
- Physical ability to stand, bend, walk, crouch, kneel, and reach, ability to lift 50lbs (23 kg) independently, ability to assist clients with standing, walking, and sitting; ability to reposition clients in bed
- Valid Standard First Aid and Level C CPR
- Updated immunization records (including completion of a two-step tuberculosis test within the last 6 months)
- Clear criminal background checks and Vulnerable sector checks are required upon hire
- Ability to interact with others in a caring, tactful, and courteous manner
- Excellent problem-solving, time management, and crisis-resolution skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
- Valid G2/G driver's license and access to a reliable car is an asset
- Ability to use phone applications
- Vulnerable Sector Check completed within the last six months
- Submission of proof of three COVID vaccinations
- TB test completed within 6 months to a year
- Immunization record
- Up-to-date CPR and First Aid certification
- Mask Fit
