Job Description

Offering cutting-edge expertise in geotechnics, rock mechanics and materials control for the realization of design or construction projects of all types and complexities by offering added value in terms of innovation, customer support and multidisciplinary integration of all CIMA+ areas of expertise, while positioning people at the center of engineering

Primary Responsibilities

Within multidisciplinary teams of Earth & Environnement, you will participate in projects of design, rehabilitation or construction of buildings, roads, engineering structures, hydraulic structures, earthworks, slope stability, soil dynamics, temporary and permanent supports, deep and conventional foundations, for private or public, institutional or industrial clients, mainly in Quebec but also elsewhere in Canada.

Your Contribution To The Team

• Conduct complete geotechnical studies from planning to report writing, including surveys, drilling, laboratory tests, as well as design recommendations
• Inspect, assess the safety and bring concrete and earth dams up to standard
• Participate in studies on tunnels and rock wall stability, including discontinuity surveys and potential landslide plans using a drone
• Coordinate studies, engineering, field work, subcontractors and suppliers
• Prepare tender documents to respond to interdepartmental or public service offers
• Supported by experienced draftsmen, prepare plans and specifications for earthworks, slope stabilization, bank protection, etc.
• Participate in the training and supervision of interns or Candidates to the Engineering Profession (CEP)
  
  

Qualifications

• University degree in civil or geological engineering and specialization in geotechnics
• Registered on the roll of the Order of Engineers of Quebec as an Engineer or a CEP
• Knowledge of slope stability, flow and/or finite element analysis software
• The candidate must demonstrate excellent teamwork skills within multidisciplinary engineering teams composed mainly of Geotechnical and Geological Engineers and Environmental Specialists
• Experience or Master's degree in hydrogeology or rock mechanics or soil dynamics or permafrost would be an asset
• Fluency in French and English, both oral and written, is required for this position in order to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, including our clients, partners and cross-sector staff at the national level. Strong ability to work simultaneously on various projects
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, and ability to ensure effective communication with clients on the progress of work
• Project management skills to ensure compliance with budgets, established deadlines and administrative monitoring of files
