Job Description

Build landscape projects according to supplied contract documents, work orders, and / or architectural drawings within the estimated time allowance

Scope Compliance; Ensure that any work which is not included in the supplied contract documents, work orders, and / or architectural drawings is brought to the attention of the project manager.

Refer to the project’s contract, work order and / or drawings on a regular basis

Effectively manage a project’s Order of Operations (sequence of events or Work Breakdown Structure) with the assistance of the project manager and designer

Assist in the coordination of a project’s labor and equipment requirements (with the help of the project manager)

Coordinate the ordering of all on site material requirements such as disposal bins, aggregates, adhesives, bedding materials etc. (other than the core project material orders placed by the project manager or designer such as precast products, natural stone products etc)

Accurately record with the provided time keeping software crew start times, end times and lunch breaks. Properly allocate crew time sheets to the correct task

Attendance and lateness; ensure that lateness is documented and brought to the attention of the project manager

Include in daily time keeping records accurate and meaningful progress reports and job site photographs. If projects go over estimated time allowances ensure that records reflect why that is

Enforce Job site safety requirements especially regarding use of PPE and compliance with company Health and Safety Policies

Quality control; ensure projects are built to a high level of quality

Delegation; ensure that tasks are delegated properly

Drawings Interpretation: correctly interpret architectural drawings and specifications such as layout drawings, elevation drawings and cross sections as well as grading contour lines and spot elevations

Operate various small tools and equipment, including: quick cut saws, plate tampers, power tools, laser levels, measurement equipment, shovels, hammers, drills, etc.

Perform preventative maintenance on tools and equipment by conducting inspections, lubricating, and cleaning on a daily basis

Have a good understanding of the company’s Employee Manual

Have a good understanding of the company’s Health and Safety Manual

Maintain and enforce standards of cleanliness and organization in assigned trucks, trailers, equipment, jobsites, and shop/yard areas

Employee training: train staff on industry standard best practices and techniques

Communicate with customers in a polite and courteous manner

Qualifications

Education:

High School Diploma,

Skills & Professional Training

Driver's License - G, Clean Driving Record, Skid Steer

High School Diploma, GED or equivalent

Minimum of 1 years’ experience as a Landscape Construction Foreperson

Minimum of 4 years’ experience in the landscape / construction industry

A valid Class G driver’s license

Speak, read, and write English

Carry and use a smart phone or data-enabled device for communication and reporting

Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. repeatedly through an entire work shift

Ability to work in a fast paced environment

Work near heavy equipment and other vehicles on a regular basis

Work outdoors in various conditions including heat and humidity, rain, dust, noise, and cold

Flexible working hours including occasional weekend work

Compensation

$35 to $40/hour
