About The Role

We're looking for a professional, proactive and personable individual to join our Claims team as a Claims Assessor on a 12-month fixed term contract. We’d prefer that you have strong attention to detail, are comfortable with making decisions and a strong customer focus.

We pride ourselves on giving our members the best experience, so you will need to be driven and a high performer.

As a Claims Assessor, you’ll be assessing our Member's claims accurately and in a timely manner according to policy and rules of the Society.

You'll Do This By

  • Checking claims received contain sufficient information required for assessment
  • liaising with Providers and Members to obtain additional information in an appropriate manner while adhering to the Privacy Act and maintaining Member confidentiality
  • Entering claim information into the claims entry system and adhering to agreed accuracy and productivity standards
  • Identifying anomalies in data provided by Members or Providers and following company policy to escalate any suspicious information

Ideally You'll Have

  • Administrative and/or processing experience in a corporate environment involving contact with providers and/or suppliers
  • Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Accuracy and speed at inputting data
  • An ability to self-manage and plan, organise and prioritise workload
  • An ability to work effectively within a team environment
  • Strong initiative and the ability to proactively seek information and problem solve
  • Decision making ability
  • A Focus on continuous improvement
  • A willingness to be flexible and adaptable to a changing work environment
