Within The Energy Department, As An Electrical Arrangement Drafter

Your responsibilities

  • Support the design team in electrical equipment in high, medium and low voltage substations;
  • Produce sketches and drawings, instructions, material lists and other related documents for the design of electrical/protection and control/civil/structural components utilized in electrical power generation, transmission, transformation and distribution systems
  • Fills out the product documentation and drawing sets;
  • Manage and order plans from our clients;
  • Support the design team in the managing of the various engineering projects;
  • Consult with the engineers and production staff during the production phase;
  • Produce and check drawings according to the drawing’s standards of the company, the customer and the applicable regulatory agencies.

Your profile

  • Certificate in electrical drafting or equivalent with 2-5 years of experience (Previous experience with public utilities such as Hydro Ontario is an asset);
  • Demonstrated technical skills and competencies such as: team work, problem resolution, work monitoring, time and deadline management, adaptability, leadership, attention to details and communication skills (written and verbal);
  • Knowledge of both theoretical and practical aspects of electrical arrangement design;
  • Knowledge of electrical power generation, transmission, transformation, delivery systems and the electrical equipment and materials used in these areas;
  • Knowledge of applicable electrical standards and regulations;
  • Requires knowledge of computer-aided drafting systems (AutoCAD – 2D & 3D) and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint);
  • Keen observation skills, sense of curiosity, ingenuity in project design.
