GARAVENTA LIFT - Garaventa Lift designs and builds world-class accessibility lifts and elevators with manufacturing in Surrey, BC as well as Lainate, Italy. With an esteemed history tracing back to 1928 in Switzerland, Garaventa Lift operates in several European countries as well as North America. The company serves both commercial and residential markets through dealers and direct stores.

Summary

This hands-on position will be an operational and strategic partner to the Garaventa Lift Canada team of 300 employees and will leverage strong human resource management, problem solving and communication skills to advise and guide leaders and staff on a broad set of human resources matters. As a trusted HR partner, this position facilitates implementation and execution of HR strategy, programs and plans aligned to deliver the business strategy. This position is 100% on site at 18920 36 Ave, Surrey, BC V3Z 0P6, Canada.

Essential Duties And Requirements

HR Operations

  • Act as the primary contact for leaders and employees in person, via telephone, email, providing guidance/clarity around questions on HR policies, procedures and guidelines
  • Partner with Payroll and Benefits team with worked/time off hours, data processing and validation
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition team to facilitate full cycle recruitment and onboarding

Implementation and delivery of Core People Processes

  • Deliver the implementation of HR programs, policies, and processes, ensuring delivery is focused on driving best practice and consistency across Business Unit and corporate HR strategic priorities
  • Analyze HR information and report on KPIs to identify trends/issues and proactively develop solutions
  • Operate within the HR & Payroll technology platform (ADP Workforce Now)

Performance Management

  • Provide productive feedback and coaching to employees and leaders
  • Provide consultation to leaders in addressing performance concerns through coaching, feedback and when required, disciplinary action
  • Address employee relations issues, facilitate and/or lead investigations
  • Deal with escalated issues on sensitive and/or complex matters

Change Management and Engagement

  • Be the people champion for our values and culture
  • Support leadership in developing and executing engagement & retention strategies and change management initiatives
  • Lead and drive engagement action plans to propel culture evolution

Talent Management & Development

  • Support people development through coaching, training and development discussion and plans
  • Develop, facilitate & support training programs supporting growth and best practice

Skills, Education & Personal Attributes

  • Post-Secondary education in HR, plus a minimum of 3-5 years of progressive HR experience
  • Completion or working toward CHRL designation
  • In-depth knowledge of Canadian legislation and employment standards
  • Working experience and knowledge of ADP Workforce Now and associated business processes
  • Ability to offer sound judgment, recommendations, opinions, and suggestions based on sound HR knowledge
  • Knowledge of current trends and issues in HR, Employment Standards and other employment related legislation and how to apply them
  • Experience in building, managing, and maintaining employee and leader relationships
  • Proven ability to manage conflict and stressful situations
  • Highly organized in prioritizing work, multi-tasking, and consistently meeting deadlines within a fast-paced work environment
  • Experience contributing to and/or leading various HR strategic initiatives
  • Demonstrate ability to push talent processes and agenda forward
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Able to maintain confidentiality and conduct work within appropriate privacy standards
  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to work in a collaborative team-based environment t
  • Fluency in French and English languages a definite asset
