About The Opportunity
Reporting to the Senior Director, the Director of Interprofessional Practice and Learning (IPP&L)- will lead a change agenda to create a vision for advancing person-centred, practice excellence, and foster collaborative and interprofessional practice environments that optimize scopes of practice, health service leadership and collaborative learning for health professionals (regulated and non-regulated), as well as for other care providers and support services.
This position will promote the development of an organizational culture that promotes continuous learning and effective, evidence-based practice to support clinical transformation and the advancement of interprofessional practice and learning. The Director of IPP&L serves as an expert consultant on interprofessional practice and scope of practice matters. This position requires an effective strategist, leading the planning, delivery and evaluation of comprehensive interprofessional practice and interprofessional learning/education programs that are culturally safe and serve as foundations for the delivery of ethical, high-quality care within the Nova Scotia Health.
Working closely with clinical, operational and physician leaders throughout the organization, the Director is responsible for the successful integration of effective clinical practice standards and evidence-informed tools into practice environments, as well as the implementation and evaluation of collaborative care frameworks and coordinating structures.
In both the provincial and zonal roles, the Director ensures continuous improvement to advance a strategic vision of interprofessional practice and learning excellence, and is responsible for compliance with relevant legislation, standards, and accreditation requirements. The Director leads the team, facilitates, and champions a learning, practice and research environment that aligns with the current and proposed future state of the Nova Scotia Health, and works closely with education institutions, regulatory colleges, government and other partners on learning and practice-related matters, and participates in the overall transformation of the health workforce in NS.

$56.95 - $71.19 hourly ($111,052 - $138,823 annually)

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:
- Master’s degree in a health profession, health administration, or equivalent experience, with a related Master’s degree close to completion.
- Current licensure with the applicable regulatory health profession is required.
- A College of Health Leaders certificate is considered an asset.
- 5–7 years of progressive leadership and management experience in healthcare, along with clinically related practice experience.
- Experience in planning and delivering comprehensive professional practice and professional development programs within a complex, integrated service model across multiple locations with various partners and stakeholders.
- Proven ability to act as a strategic leader within a complex organization, enabling change, leading transformational projects, and providing strategic advice to senior management.
- Expert knowledge in critically analyzing evidence-based practices to inform strategy and optimize practice environments.
- Strong understanding of relevant legislative and regulatory frameworks governing health professions.
- Demonstrated experience in engaging, mentoring, and empowering teams and stakeholders in a collaborative and participative manner, aligning with an organization’s mission, vision, goals, and objectives.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and decision-making skills, with the ability to interpret statistical data and monitor quality, performance indicators, and benchmarks.
- Experience working with diverse teams and partnerships, with a strong understanding of cultural competence, diversity, and social inclusion in healthcare.
- Proven excellence in financial planning and human resource management.
- Competencies in additional languages are an asset, with a preference for French.
