As a Senior Software Engineer at Optum and a member of the Enterprise Imaging Product team, this role is a key hands-on contributor within a team of talented software engineers. This position requires you to be a collaborative self-starter who is passionate about design, capable of taking ownership, and driving results. This role involves working with a distributed, global team and multiple stakeholders.

Within the SI PACS product development team, you will support a cloud-native PACS system on Google Cloud, a medical imaging device with a global installation base. In addition to making an impact on a great team, you’ll also discover the career opportunities you’d expect from an industry leader.

You will enjoy the flexibility to telecommute* from anywhere within Canada as you take on some tough challenges.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead, design, guide/review, develop and Maintain application code supporting product features in collaboration with business and other stakeholders
  • Design, develop support and optimize API used by our internal and external partners
  • Support and drive cross team integration efforts for brining your solutions to production
  • Participate in Agile/Scrum methodology to deliver high quality software releases through sprints
  • Troubleshoot production and support issues and present solutions as required
  • Provide technical leadership by providing provide expert guidance on complex technical issues, ensuring the team adheres to best practices and maintains high standards in software development

Required Qualifications

  • 6+ years of practical experience in NodeJS working with TypeScript or JavaScript
  • 5+ years of experience working with SQL and NoSQL database solutions
  • 5+ years of experience developing secure cloud-based solutions on GCP
  • 5+ Years of experience working with geographically distributed teams
  • 5+ years of experience working in Agile software development teams
  • 5+ years of experience in DevOps methodologies such as GitHub, Jenkins, CI/CD
  • 5+ years of experience applying practical secure cloud design patterns to solutions
  • 3+ years of experience securing cloud solutions in line with industry standards
  • 3+ years of experience in test automation strategies for cloud solutions

Preferred Qualifications

  • Cloud Developer, GCP certification or similar certificate holder
  • Practical experience in promoting and building an inclusive culture
  • Experience in developing solutions in for regulated industries (Healthcare)
  • Practical experience in working with message based asynchronous systems
  • Strong communicator with the ability to explain complex ideas and solutions balancing technical jargon with clear accessible language for wide audiences

Canada Residents Only: The salary range for Canada residents is $75,600 to $157,100 per year. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc.
