Job Summary
The Senior Operations and Maintenance Manager will plan, lead, and coordinate night shift operations to support sales and profitability objectives while maintaining excellent business relationships and work relations. Responsibilities include ensuring customer orders are assembled, verified, and delivered efficiently, and that distribution center operations comply with local, provincial, and federal requirements. The role requires staying updated on risks, opportunities, and competitor activities and collaborating with multiple functions to develop, implement, and deploy operational processes and best practices in the Montreal distribution center. The manager will lead a team of supervisors, promoting the organization’s "I engage" and ILEAD values while fostering a rewarding and engaging work environment.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for achieving health and safety results, workforce management, customer experience, human resource and material optimization, and compliance with quality systems during the night shift.
- Establish medium-term priorities and strategy for implementation.
- Lead regular management meetings of operations, providing regular reports on data, measures, and actions to assess progress against distribution center objectives.
- Address complex problems and implement improvements to optimize operational efficiency, ensuring timely and quality deliveries to clients.
- Coordinate projects using internal operational policies to achieve optimal solutions.
- Communicate organizational and functional strategy, translating it into team objectives.
- Deliver technical presentations on specific projects or timelines.
- Introduce innovative initiatives to optimize business processes while ensuring efficient warehouse operations.
- Support the implementation of practices, laws, regulations, policies, and programs regarding safety, regulations, and manufacturing (GMP), ensuring quality standards are met throughout the storage cycle.
- Continuously seek to improve productivity by optimizing processes in partnership with the inventory management team.
- Communicate a clear vision and need for change within the organization, generating enthusiasm and commitment towards the process.
- Frequent interaction with subordinates, external clients, and functional peer groups such as Customer Service and Transportation.
- Support key transformation initiatives related to operational changes, clearly communicating the vision and need for change to the organization.
- Embody company values daily and instill them in the team to create a cohesive, engaging, and secure company culture.
Qualifications
- University degree or equivalent experience in industrial engineering, business administration, or supply chain management.
- At least nine (9) years of professional experience with a minimum of 3 years in supervision or management.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and act as part of a team.
- Strong understanding and experience in distribution and warehousing, including current GMP practices.
- Experience with automated systems.
- Experience applying Six Sigma methods.
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects effectively.
- Critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and a proactive nature with a willingness to challenge existing processes and propose innovative solutions.
- Interpersonal communication skills to effectively find information, obtain approvals, build relationships, and succeed.
- Strong analytical skills and financial analysis experience.
- Experience with Microsoft Office.
- Proficient in French and English.
- This position requires daily support of internal and/or external clients outside Quebec and/or the United States, necessitating proficiency in English.
Compensation
McKesson offers a competitive compensation package, with a base pay range of $90,600 - $151,000. This is determined by various factors including performance, experience, skills, and market evaluations. Other compensation options may include bonuses or long-term incentives.
