Position Description
Reporting to the head of cardiovascular surgery and the Labatt Family Heart Centre Research Manager, the Program Manager will work to support the daily research operations of the Cardiovascular Surgery Research Program.
Here’s what you’ll get to do
- Program Management of the research portfolio in the department of cardiovascular Surgery (CVS)
- Foster collaboration and communication between CVS surgeons, research collaborators and research support staff
- Oversee CVS research fellows, master’s and PhD students with protocol development, REB applications, and other academic support
- Assist in the writing of manuscripts
- Assist with the writing of grant proposals and the submission of grant applications for CVS
- Managing daily lab maintenance, including record keeping of equipment calibration and maintenance records
- Oversite of research echo lab research students and fellows including offering academic support for workflow optimization, data analysis and writing
- Facilitation of lab and research meetings
- Manage day to day operations of CVS research
Here’s what you’ll need
- Master’s degree or equivalent in health-related field an asset
- 3+ Experience in health care research or equivalent
- 3+ years of experience with complex project management, including multiple projects and team leadership, including managing projects.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements governing clinical research
- Proven success at achieving results on multiple competing deadlines
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
- Self-motivated and proactive with an ability to organize and prioritize workflow
- Proficient computer skills to include Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- A commitment to understanding and aiding in the pursuit of equity, diversity & inclusion
