DarkVision, a Koch Engineered Solutions company, is looking for a skilled and motivated Technical Support Engineer to join our Team.
As a Technical Support Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation and stability of our Software, Hardware, and Cloud Services used by our internal team. Your primary responsibility will be to support, troubleshoot, and resolve issues that arise during day-to-day operations.
This role will be based out of DarkVision’s head office in North Vancouver, BC, where employees enjoy full access to our facility amenities including a well-equipped gym, squash court, climbing wall, steam room, and more!
Our Team
With upwards of 100 internal users within a 24/7 global operation, DarkVision's software applications and related infrastructure are mission critical to our ability to meet our commitments of quality and timely delivery of industry asset inspection projects for our clients. You will work closely with our Software Quality Assurance, Data Analysis, and Operations teams to provide troubleshooting and technical support, and ensure the continuous improvement of our technologies.
What You Will Do
For this role, we anticipate paying $70,000 - $90,000 per year. This role is eligible for variable pay, issued as a monetary bonus or in another form.

Our Team

You will work closely with our Software Quality Assurance, Data Analysis, and Operations teams to provide troubleshooting and technical support, and ensure the continuous improvement of our technologies.
What You Will Do
- Respond promptly to support requests, investigating and troubleshooting issues to resolution.
- Participate in on-call rotations and provide after-hours support as required.
- Contribute to product development with the engineering teams to enhance reliability and efficiency of our products and workflows.
- Document and maintain knowledge base articles and troubleshooting guides for quick issue resolution and knowledge sharing.
- Participate in the release management process by reviewing and testing software deployments.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders, providing timely updates on issues and their resolutions.
- Identify and implement automation opportunities for system testing to help avoid future issues.
- Industrial ultrasound for non-destructive testing and industrial asset inspections
- Hardware and software product development
- Quality Assurance and Release Management
- Cloud Services (AWS, Docker, and Databases)
- Post secondary education in computing science, engineering, IT, or a related field.
- Experience providing technical support to technical and non-technical users.
- Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex systems and identify root causes.
- Familiarity with Linux and Windows operating systems, including command-line utilities.
- Knowledge of networking concepts and troubleshooting of network related issues.
- Understanding of cloud services and cloud platforms such as AWS.
- Ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to learn quickly and work effectively in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
- Experience providing technical support to both software and hardware products.
- Bachelor’s degree in computing science, engineering, IT, or a related field
