Residential Painter

Westcorp is seeking a capable in-house Residential Painter for the Windsor Park Plaza/Lofts, as well as the Edgeway Townhome properties, comprising 897 rental units. In collaboration with the maintenance and renovation team members, the painting team member performs various duties in coordinating and delivering market-ready rental suites, common areas, and projects on time and within scope and budget. As an integral member of the Windsor Park Plaza & Edgeway teams, this position will ensure industry-leading levels of quality work and customer service are provided to all customers in our facilities. This position will require extra hours occasionally, particularly at month-end, so the ability to work those evenings/weekends is required. Do you possess extraordinary painting abilities? Primary Key Responsibilities

• Professionally and adequately preparing surfaces for painting by removing old paint, priming surfaces, sanding, filling, choosing materials, selecting and mixing colours, and cleaning up job sites.
• Paint surfaces using brushes, spray guns or paint rollers.
• Graffiti removal from the interior and exterior of buildings.
• Primarily, responsibility will be to perform turnover painting in suites at Edgeway Townhomes and common area touch-ups at Windsor Park Plaza and Lofts. As time permits, some turnover painting may be required at these properties.
• On occasion, assist the renovation team with all aspects of suite renovations or other capital projects as required, which will include, but are not limited to, building, framing, taping and finishing of walls and project clean up.
• Completing work and purchase orders as required in Yardi software system will require some computer skills.
• Attend regular community meetings, stay informed of on-site initiatives and programs, and complete any and all required educational programs (eg WHMIS, etc.).
• Ensure compliance with the Residential Tenancies Act in all procedures.
• Execute all work safely and professionally and comply with Occupational Health and Safety Legislation guidelines.
• Ensure local, provincial, & federal laws and regulations are being observed in the community.
• Ensure comprehension and compliance with all Westcorp Playbook policies.

• Perform other duties as assigned by the Property Manager.
  
  
  

Required Skills and Abilities

• Must be a High School Graduate; Post-Secondary Education an asset
• Must have a minimum of five years of relevant experience in a professional painting environment
• Knowledge of equipment, materials, methods and practices used for interior and exterior applications required
• Experience in finishing carpentry, wood finishing/staining and renovations is an asset
• Must be available to work extra hours as they will vary for high season and month-end
• Must be highly proficient in English written and verbal communication abilities
• Must be physically fit with the ability to lift, carry or move heavy items
• Proficient computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• A high degree of professionalism and dedication, as well as a passion for delivering sensational customer service to all stakeholders
• Highly organized, results-oriented and able to work in a multi-functional team environment
• Must be personable and have a positive, energetic attitude
• Must be flexible and willing to change roles or responsibilities as required
• Appearance must be neat, clean and professional
• Ability to work with minimum supervision
• Must have own vehicle and valid driver's license, and the ability to travel between sites is required
