Job Summary
The Human Resources Generalist is accountable for partnering with leaders across the organization on recruitment, employee onboarding, employee relations as well as employee program and policy development and implementation. This role will be responsible for promoting a positive workplace culture with a focus on the employee experience and performance. The Human Resources Generalist will report directly to the Chief Human Resources Officer.
What You Will Be Doing
Collaborating with leaders to support recruitment needs, including posting roles, pre-screening, coordinating interviews as well as preparing and presenting offers
Leading the employee onboarding process including liaising with other departments to ensure new employees have relevant documentation, access, equipment and support
Administering employee programs as well as developing and maintaining workplace policies and supporting the implementation of new practices
Continually reviewing processes and practices to enhance the employee experience, improve efficiency, ensure relevance and comply with applicable legislation
Partnering with leaders to support employee performance and address employee relations matters
Supporting the development, implementation and maintenance of compensation programs and practices
Ensuring compliance with legislated requirements and reporting and due diligence/liability requirements are met
Developing and implementing training and development initiatives to address current capabilities and future training needs, including on-the-job operational training, department specific training, leadership development, and new hire orientation and on boarding
Developing strong working relationships with leaders and employees, providing advice, guidance, and coaching as required
Fostering a workplace culture that supports employee engagement and a high level of performance
What We Are Looking For
3-5 years of experience in Human Resources in a generalist capacity complemented by a bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Human Resources, Business or Organizational Development
Experience in recruitment and employee relations best practices
Working knowledge of provincial (Alberta) and federal employment legislations and requirements
Experience in the construction or telecom industries is considered an asset
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate across all levels of the organization
High degree of initiative with a willingness to learn, identify improvement opportunities and take on new initiatives/programs
Ability to multi-task and work independently in a fast-paced environment

- This role is Monday-Friday, standard business hours
