Our technology platform utilizes sensors, GPS tracking, and highly engaged partner haulers to provide waste management and recycling services and track materials from their source to recycling and composting facilities. Our sustainability experts analyze the data generated by the platform to help our customers make tangible improvements to their waste management and recycling efforts. Ultimately, we are innovating to treat waste as a component material for other products in the circular economy so that as little as possible is deposited into landfills or incinerators.
What We Need
As an Accounts Payable Specialist at RTS, you will play a key role in ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices, reconciling accounts, and maintaining vendor relationships. Your primary focus will be on reviewing and processing vendor invoices and payments, resolving discrepancies, and ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting best practices.
The position is based in the Richmond, BC Headquarters and is considered hybrid and requires a blend of work from home and in office.
This position can also be remote if you are outside the lower mainland.

50,000 - 57,000 CAD per year(Canada)

What You Will Be Doing
- Oversee the processing of vendor invoices monthly by reviewing internal reports and hauler aging’s
- Investigate past due balances and resolve with the hauler expeditiously
- Consistent review to monitor the payables accounts, verify discrepancies and resolve invoice issues
- Investigate circumstances of non-payment; negotiate and resolve conflicts
- Ensure timely processing of payments and refunds to and from vendors
- Record payments activity to ensure timely reconciliation of internal accounts
- Work collaboratively with other teams, Operations, Procurement, Business Compliance and Billing, on missing invoices or payment queries to ensure RTS can provide the ultimate service to the customer
- Suggest new strategies to finance and tech to continually improve processes within the AP team
- Participate in ad-hoc accounting and finance projects
Must Have” Skills/Experience
- 1+ years of experience in Accounts Payable
- Strong proficiency in Accounting Systems/ERP and Microsoft Excel
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a customer service mindset
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, maintain a professional and positive attitude, and set an example for others
- Adaptability and a proactive approach to change
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail, accuracy in execution, and the ability to work efficiently under pressure with minimal supervision
- Proven ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Post-Secondary degree/diploma an asset
