The Opportunity:
WSP is looking for a PLAA (Permits, License, Agreements & Approvals) Lead to join our Strategic Advisory & Planning team, located at one of the WSP offices or on-site project office. Reporting to the Design Area Manager for the Program Administration Team, you will be responsible for managing the permits and approvals for any project scope directed by Metrolinx related to the Union Station Enhancement Project (USEP). This position involves extensive contact and collaboration with the OnTrack Alliance project team and external stakeholders.

What you can expect to do here:
- Work with the project team to identify permit and approval requirements.
- Coordinate with project disciplines to understand permit timelines and minimize project delays.
- Manage and ensure timely coordination of permits, licenses, and approvals.
- Lead all permits and approvals required for the project.
- Oversee project PLAA coordinators and track application statuses.
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with permitting and approvals delays.
- Engage with project stakeholders to understand their needs and gain their support.
- Prepare presentations and workflows necessary to complete project tasks.
- Coordinate and schedule meetings with Stakeholders and the OnTrack Alliance team.
- Ensure proper engagement of external stakeholders for necessary feedback.
- Manage internal and external regulatory approval processes.
- Maintain relationships with stakeholders, including Governmental Authorities.
What you’ll bring to WSP:
- University degree or college diploma in relevant disciplines.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in Project Permitting and Approvals or similar projects.
- Knowledge of project management processes and the need to meet cost and schedule requirements.
- Experience in permitting for construction projects.
- Experience with transport projects involving MTO, Metrolinx, TTC, or Regional Road.
- Knowledge of real estate principles and negotiation skills.
- Awareness of alternative project delivery methods.
- Sound judgement and excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
- Leadership and management skills with the ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams.
- Experience in a Consulting Engineering environment is an asset.
