Job Summary

Responsible for assessment, design, and implementation of datacenter services, including servers, storage and network services with a focus on Linux systems. This person will work with the appropriate technology teams, business stakeholders, vendors and company leadership to ensure that the delivered platforms/systems meet company needs. This person will be in our Niagara Falls office.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and recommend Linux deployment standards.
• Leverage configuration management tools to deploy and enforce predefined, standard system states, collect data, create reports, and maintain compliance.
• Participate with internal and external teams in the design, implementation, and maintenance of computing/cloud, network and data storage system infrastructure components.
• Identify, recommend, and lead implementation of improvements to infrastructure components and procedures to increase operational efficiency.

• Participate in tier 3 Infrastructure support activities, including incident management and the assessment/delivery of application upgrades and patches.
• Participate in disaster recovery planning and testing for infrastructure components and services.
• Provide technical leadership to the MSP offshore team.
• Work within a team environment, manage systems, lead upgrades, coordinate installations, and work from a ticketing queue.

• Develop, improve and maintain documentation of the environment and operational processes.
• Ensure compliance with company standards, policies and regulations.
• Collaborate with and direct vendors in the successful completion of infrastructure integration and operational support activities.
• Assure maximum uptime by monitoring and analyzing system and network utilization trends, performing capacity planning, and applying proactive remediations to potential issues.
• Plan, design and lead infrastructure management/maintenance projects, including relevant policies & procedures, and operational improvements in collaboration with team members and MSPs.
• Support Infrastructure and IT operations service levels and participate in continuous improvement culture within the IT Operations team and their MSPs.

• Monitor and remain abreast of emerging technologies for possible introduction into the organization.

Qualifications

Required:

• Completion of a diploma in Computer Science, or a related discipline – or a combination of education, training, and experience deemed equivalent
• 8-10 years of related work experience with a background in Cloud and On-Premises infrastructure, Linux systems management, and design/development of corporate systems standards
• Must have an excellent knowledge of the principles, practices, and standards of the IT Cloud operation
• Experience analyzing business and solution requirements to determine resources necessary to meet objectives
• Experience with working with diverse, distributed teams and managed services providers
• Problem solving, interpersonal, and oral/written/presentation skills to lead the analysis, design, and development of enterprise business solutions across multiple platforms
  
  

Preferred

• Linux experience is a requirement. Red Hat and/or Oracle Enterprise Linux considered an asset.
• Ansible configuration management implementation and operation required.
• Working experience with an MSP.
• Azure and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure experience
• Oracle Exadata OS level / Grid / ASM considered an asset
• Network configuration on Cisco devices experience (routers, switches, ASA, firepower) considered an asset
• Experience with Service Now
• ITIL Foundations considered an asset
• Industry specific certifications (RedHat, VMware, Citrix, Microsoft, Cisco), an asset
  
  

COMPENSATION: Budgeted Range – ($88,146.00-$114,072.00) the budgeted range takes into account several factors and qualifications that are considered in making compensation decisions including experience, education, training, licenses, certifications, and other business and organizational requirements. Base pay is only one component of the total rewards offering at Arterra.
