Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Accountant role will be have the following key duties and responsibilities:
- Assist with leading and managing the general accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries, accruals, and financial reporting.
- Assist and prepare year-end working papers and supporting schedules to facilitate the auditing process.
- Assist with daily treasury and cash flow forecasting.
- Assist with ad hoc financial analysis and reporting as assigned by management.
- Assist with the preparation of HST/QST and other compliance, tax, and corporate filings.
- Manage fixed assets and depreciation schedules.
- Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of accounting experience.
- Extensive experience with ERP systems and financial reporting.
- Exceptional analytical skills, problem-solving, and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
