Chocoberry Cafe, a vibrant and welcoming eatery located in the heart of Downtown Toronto, is seeking an experienced and dedicated Restaurant Manager. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic leader with a passion for the hospitality industry and a proven track record in managing all aspects of restaurant operations. The Restaurant Manager will be responsible for ensuring the highest level of customer satisfaction, efficient operations, and the overall success of the cafe.
Key Responsibilities:
- Scheduling & Staffing:
- Develop and manage employee schedules to ensure optimal coverage for all shifts.
- Oversee the recruitment, training, and development of FOH (Front of House) and BOH (Back of House) staff.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, ensuring high levels of employee engagement and retention.
- Inventory Management & Ordering:
- Monitor and manage inventory levels, ensuring that the cafe is always stocked with necessary ingredients and supplies.
- Handle the ordering process, working closely with suppliers to maintain cost-effective and high-quality inventory.
- Implement inventory control systems to minimize waste and manage costs effectively.
- Customer Service:
- Uphold the highest standards of customer service, addressing any issues or complaints promptly and professionally.
- Ensure that all customers have a positive and memorable dining experience at Chocoberry Cafe.
- FOH and BOH Management:
- Oversee daily operations of both the front and back of house, ensuring seamless coordination between kitchen and service staff.
- Implement and maintain operational procedures to enhance efficiency and service quality.
- Commercial Equipment Management:
- Ensure that all commercial kitchen and dining equipment is properly maintained and functioning.
- Coordinate repairs and maintenance as needed to minimize downtime.
- Financial Management:
- Prepare and analyze financial reports, including sales, labor, and food cost reports, to drive profitability.
- Work with ownership to set and achieve financial targets and budgets.
- Systems & Processes Oversight:
- Oversee all operations related to systems and processes, ensuring that they run smoothly and efficiently.
- Maintain and troubleshoot the Point of Sale (POS) system, ensuring that staff are trained and any technical issues are resolved quickly.
- Continuously evaluate and improve operational processes to enhance overall efficiency and customer satisfaction.
- Culinary Management:
- Collaborate with the culinary team to ensure consistency in food quality and presentation.
- Assist in menu development and seasonal updates to keep offerings fresh and exciting.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of restaurant management experience, preferably in a similar setting.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
- In-depth knowledge of FOH and BOH operations.
- Proficiency in inventory management, ordering, scheduling, and financial reporting.
- Technical knowledge of POS systems and the ability to manage and troubleshoot them.
- Excellent customer service skills and a passion for hospitality.
- Ability to handle commercial kitchen equipment and understand maintenance requirements.
- Culinary knowledge and experience in menu development is a plus.
