Rainbow Greenhouse supplies indoor and garden plants to retailers in Western Canada and North Western US. We are seeking highly motivated, hard-working, and dedicated individuals to join our team as a Area Team Lead for Central Alberta. With this position, you can be proud of what you do.
Job Summary: Area Team Lead position varies through our season. Be prepared for long days in spring and summer as the needs of the business sometimes go past 8 hour working day and this includes Saturdays in peak season (April – September) and requires interviewing/ hiring new team members, working inside and outside of retail stores with merchandising teams, building relationships with retail stores management, payroll and administrative qualities for an organized team. Outside of peak season, focuses will be supporting teams, updating training guides and regularly reviewing reports. This is a permanent, year-round position with the potential to grow within the company.
This position services the Central Alberta area locations.

Responsibilities Include But Not Limited To
- Maintain positive working relationship and communication with team members and retail location managers and key contacts.
- Support Senior and Junior supervisors in interviewing and hiring
- Organizing team’s administration information.
- Support Senior and Junior supervisors in training new and seasonal merchandisers through the onboarding process and guides built by banner and program, including the Occupational Health and Safety training.
- Support merchandisers in field - coaching, strategizing, and implementing Rainbow merchandising standards.
- Support Senior and Junior supervisors for peak season scheduling, and off-season store rotations.
- Daily reviews of merchandise entries and providing feedback to merchandisers.
- Regular tours through stores to ensure teams are executing Rainbow standards.
- Updating training guides in the off season to dial in each program to meet high merchandising standards.
- Communicating new information, policies, and goals to all merchandisers.
- Balancing working in field with team and office responsibilities.
- Managing multiple merchandisers in different locations for Central Alberta -Stettler/Wainwright/Olds/Sylvan lake/Red Deer.
- Knowing, practicing, and executing good merchandising practices.
- Develop and maintain an effective active working schedule and submit it to the director on a weekly basis. You will also need to provide a summary of your previous week through the online team’s app.
- Must be exceptional with technology for running our apps and report system, Microsoft office.
- Experience working in retail merchandising or working directly for large scale retailer. (1-3 years)
- Experience working as lead or management roles. (1-3 years)
- Personal and reliable vehicle – valid drivers license required.
- Safety-toed shoes required (steel or composite)
- Smart phone required, regular usage (email/phone/photos, etc.)
- Physical work- able to lift 50lbs.
