Who You Are

We’re looking for a Senior Accountant who is a self-starter with an ability to drive cross functional process developments, and interested in long term growth alongside our business. Reporting to the VP, Finance, you will be supporting our accounting and finance processes by producing accurate and reliable financial results for reporting and decision making.

Let’s Give You a Purpose

  • Own the month-end close process, including accruals, pre-payments, account reconciliations including cash and credit cards
  • Work with the Talent & Culture team on the payroll process (US and Canada)—review and process expense reimbursements, calculating commissions and other variable compensation, and registering the business in each jurisdiction in which a member of the team works
  • Design, implement and monitor internal controls and policies to mitigate risk and ensure the accuracy of the company's financial statements in accordance with US GAAP
  • Prepare and submit PBC documents for an annual audit
  • Management reporting and analytics
  • Prepare and submit PBC documents for the filing of monthly, quarterly and annual tax filings - EHT, WSIB, Sales Tax, Payroll (US and Canada) - T4As, W2s, 1099s

What You’ll Bring Along

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent
  • CPA Designated or Actively Pursuing
  • 5 years of progressive accounting experience in industry with strong experience in month end close
  • Experience with processing Canadian and US payroll
  • Intermediate to Advanced Excel skills
  • Demonstrated ability to drive cross functional process developments and refinements
  • Willingness to roll up your sleeves and get into the details
  • Capacity to meet deadlines while maintaining quality standards and effective time management
  • Self-starter, able to work independently with minimal direction and isn’t afraid to wear multiple hats
  • Hands-on with financial systems; Very good understanding of accounting system relationships as well as experience navigating and troubleshooting accounting software issues
