Title: Inventory Management Supervisor
Reports To: Sr Manager, Inventory & Demand Planning
Job Purpose: Effectively manage a team of Inventory Analyst(s) and Cycle Counter(s) to measure, monitor and improve the inventory controls in various assigned Wolf Steel manufacturing and distribution warehouses, as well as independent 3PL warehouses and outside service suppliers. Establish best practices in managing inventory related activities for the organization. Manage cycle count programs to ensure counts are scheduled, results are accurate, audited and reported. Support the direction of intercompany product movements to follow established strategies. Oversee the disposition of product and data integrity as products move through the lifecycle to Obsolete.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage, audit, identify opportunities, document, implement and train associates on ISO procedures relating to inventory movement and controls for all departments within the North American operations
- Manage the inventory data for sales/usage and future demand to disposition product as obsolete or excessive inventory for slow moving product for all North American operations. Process financial adjustments for the dispositioned product and coordinate disposal.
- Manage cross functional teams to plan and execute all projects and corrective actions relating to Inventory Accuracy
- Develop the strengths of the team to investigate inventory discrepancies to determine root causes, identify corrective action plans, implement corrective actions and monitor to validate the expected improvement
- Provide training to associates in all operations and support departments on the current ISO procedures relating to the control of inventory movements as well as any improvements made
- Manage and monitor all financial adjustments made to perpetual inventory using the Cycle Count GL. Measure the data and provide report out to Supply Chain Management on a monthly basis
- Manage all interactions and requirements of external financial auditing partners.
- Create and maintain weekly/monthly/annual KPI dashboards to identify how the inventory controls are being managed and report out to Supply Chain Management
- Support all departments within North American operations with non-standard issues/concerns/requests relating to Inventory Management, and make all necessary decisions on directions for the teams/processes
- Assign work, provide cross training opportunities and manage staff effectively in all North American locations
- Manage all activities related to the annual inventory count from planning to execution with all departments. Analyze count data and create accuracy summaries and report out final results.
- Develop team through consistent positive/constructive feedback on performance and training to be strong in D365, Excel, Power BI procedural and theory experience, that they will use to be empowered to make decisions and have ownership of the inventory accuracy
- Conduct regular team meetings to ensure full engagement, communicate performance expectations and goals of the department
- Monitor team members to ensure compliance to all safety related protocols
Education & Experience:
- Post-secondary certificate/diploma in the Supply Chain/Accounting/Business Administration or Inventory Management discipline is required.
- 3-5 years' experience in Inventory Control/Supply Chain position
- CPIM designation or working towards is considered an asset
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook), knowledge of MRP, ERP, WMS, Microsoft Dynamics is considered an asset
