Kelowna General Hospital (KGH) has an immediate permanent full-time Occupational Therapist opening. This position supports acute care clients, with an emphasis on discharge planning, equipment prescription and pressure management. This position works Sunday to Thursday from 08:00-16:00. Days off are Friday, Saturday and Stat holidays.

The Occupational Therapist plays a crucial part in providing assessment, treatment planning and implementation, program planning, consultation, equipment prescription and education to patients and/or their caregivers. Operating within a client-centered approach and as an essential member of our interdisciplinary team, you make a substantial contribution to promote functional independence and enable patients to achieve and maintain optimal health outcomes. You will provide work direction to the Rehabilitation Assistants working with the rehabilitation team in regard to transfer of function.

KGH is a tertiary referral hospital and offers high-level, specialty medical care including 24 hour emergency and trauma services, ambulatory and outpatient clinics, and diagnostic/paramedical services. Specialty services include adult and adolescent psychiatry, outpatient nutrition, patient care quality officers, and cardiac surgery.
