Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Manager, SR&ED to lead our innovative Scientific Research and Experimental Development (SR&ED) initiatives. This role is designed for a seasoned professional with deep knowledge of the SR&ED tax credit program, technical project management, and an ability to drive complex projects from conception to completion. As the Senior Manager, you will work with a cross-functional team, engage with stakeholders, and ensure compliance with SR&ED program requirements, while also playing a pivotal role in shaping the future of innovation at MDA Space.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with finance and engineering teams to identify and document eligible projects and activities for SR&ED claims.
• Oversee the preparation of technical project descriptions and supporting documentation in line with Canada Revenue Agency guidelines.
• Ensure timely reporting of SR&ED information to support the income tax provisions process.
• Ensure the accurate and timely preparation of SR&ED claims.
• Work closely with internal and external stakeholders and manage tax audit and review processes.
• Stay updated on changes to the SR&ED program and advise on the implications for ongoing and future projects.
• Provide strategic insights into potential SR&ED opportunities, optimizing claim benefits.
• Train and mentor internal teams on SR&ED documentation and compliance best practices.
• Drive innovation by leading the identification of new research projects that align with SR&ED eligibility.
  
  

Job Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Engineering, Science, or a related field.
• 8+ years of relevant experience in SR&ED claim preparation, project management, or related roles.
• Deep understanding of the SR&ED program and Canada Revenue Agency guidelines.
• Proven experience leading large-scale, innovative research projects.
• Strong technical writing skills with the ability to clearly articulate complex R&D activities.
• Excellent communication and abilities to manage cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Focused on continues improvement.
  
  

Special Considerations

Successful candidates must obtain and hold security clearance at the Reliability status level, and pass security assessment for the Controlled Goods Program (CGP), and be able to obtain higher clearances.

The compensation range for this position is $145,000 - $170,000 annually. The specific compensation offered will be based on the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.
