Tooling Engineer

This Canadian manufacturer of auto parts and assemblies is looking to add the talents of a highly skilled Tooling Engineer to its Corporate Engineering team in support of new and existing program activity. As Tooling Engineer, this role will support internal teams and consult with external suppliers, demonstrating expert knowledge of metal stamping tooling, progressive and transfer technologies. Our ideal candidate has a background in Engineering or Tool and Die Making, and will be able to draw from at least five years of practical experiences participating in the design, development, and inspection of tooling projects, identifying areas of improvement, and driving changes to processes or tooling where required. The Tooling Engineer must be comfortable managing schedules and costs of several projects concurrently as well as coordinating with the Tool Shop and outside contractors. This role will be responsible for placing orders and effectively managing die design, build, trials, and release to Production.
