To be successful as our new Registered Practical Nurse (RPN), you will:

  • Hold a current registration as a Nurse Practitioner with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Have training or practice experience completing comprehensive clinical geriatric assessments
  • Hold a current Heart Save Level of CPR
  • Maintain a Current AIS Certification
  • Experience leading, coaching and mentoring care professionals in a healthcare setting
  • Display a caring and respectful attitude toward our residents, families, and team members and work effectively as part of a cohesive team
  • Knowledge of relevant policies, procedures, legislation and regulations applicable to the long-term care sector, including the Fixing Long-Term Care Act, 2021 2007 and Health & Safety is an asset but not required and our exceptional nursing team will support this learning



As a new Nurse Practitioner (NP) joining our Village, you will:


Support and embrace our resident-centred social culture and be proud to deliver the highest quality of clinical care to our residents. NPs prioritize quality resident care and act as   clinicians and educators in strengthening the multi-disciplinary Village team. The Nurse Practitioner will provide a focus on clinical quality improvement outcomes, through supporting and collaborating with g the inter-disciplinary teams in working towards improving key clinical performance targets .


The Nurse Practitioner will provide support and guidance in completing assessments, ordering, interpreting, and communication diagnostic testing and procedures, provide support for and lead resident centred palliative care services, and participate in the clinical review of Village quality initiatives.


Nurse Practitioners at Schlegel Villages foster exemplary relationships with residents, their families and the Village team to deliver holistic care to our residents and provide specialized clinical services and expertise within a well supported clinical team environment.
