GEI Consultants is looking for an Intermediate Environmental Scientist to join our growing team at the Barrie office. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a passion for environmental science and sustainability, who wants to play a key role in solving complex environmental challenges and contribute to building safer, more resilient communities.

Essential Responsibilities & Duties

• Communicate with clients and project teams to coordinate and execute project deliverables.
• Conduct and oversee field investigations, including sampling of soil, groundwater, and surface water quality.
• Prepare detailed reports for environmental assessments such as Phased ESAs, DSS, Hydrogeological Studies, Landfill Monitoring Reports, excess soil management, ECA, and PTTW/EASR applications.
• Work closely with other engineering disciplines to achieve project goals.
• Prepare proposals and provide cost estimates
• Some assignments may require working outside of regular work hours.
  
  

Minimum Qualifications

• 4 to 8 years of experience in environmental science or a related field.
• Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, AquiferTest, PowerPoint, and other relevant software tools.
• Strong understanding of environmental legislation, soil science, geochemistry, and the use of level loggers.
• Comfort with both office and field work, including working in various environmental conditions.
• Ability to work effectively in both independent and collaborative team settings.
• A valid driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle.
