Integris Credit Union is excited to offer a full-time, permanent opportunity as a Private Wealth Advisor. Based in Prince George and Vanderhoof, the Private Wealth Advisor will be required to travel to provide wealth management services in various locations.

Your primary responsibilities will include developing personalized financial plans, managing portfolios, and providing expert advice on various financial matters such as taxes, insurance, and risk management.

The ideal candidate will bring their financial expertise and establish long-term relationships with clients while contributing to our mission helping individuals achieve their financial goals.


Salary range for the Private Wealth Advisor: The successful candidate for this position, depending on experience will be eligible for a guaranteed salary of up to $75,000 for up to one year following their date of hire. Additionally, the successful candidate will be given an existing book of business to build on. After one year, or sooner than one year if the candidate is ready to transition sooner, the compensation structure for Private Wealth Advisor role will transition to 100% commission based, providing a direct correlation between a candidates' efforts and their ability to significantly increase their earnings with the potential to earn $150,000 plus per year.

Summary of main accountabilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Member/Client Relationships:
  • Building and maintaining solid relationships with members/clients, understanding their financial goals, risk tolerance and investment preferences.
  • Developing personalized financial plans and investment strategies aligned with the client's objectives and risk profiles.
  • Recommending suitable investment products such as equities, exchange traded funds, bonds, mutual funds and alternative investments based on thorough market analysis.
  • Providing ongoing financial advice and guidance, addressing queries and providing proactive wealth management solutions.
  • Staying updated with market trends, economic developments and regulatory changes to provide accurate and timely advice.


  • Services & Sales:
  • Proactively contact clients within portfolio to identify opportunities to offer additional products and services to develop full relationship (i.e. as client's estates grow, offer products and services that help clients avoid excessive taxes and safeguard assets).
  • Develop personalized wealth management strategies, including investment planning, portfolio allocation and retirement planning.
  • Evaluate investment opportunities, considering factors like risk, return of potential and liquidity.
  • Provide ongoing financial advice and guidance, keeping clients informed about trends, investments opportunities and potential risks.
  • Create detailed financial plans including cash flow projections, retirement planning, and tax optimization strategies.
  • Provide ongoing quality referrals to branch positions on products & services outside of area of responsibility (i.e. lending, commercial accounts, mortgages, insurance.)


  • Business Development:
  • Implement various business development efforts, like networking, soliciting new business and financial education seminars, developing relationships and generating leads.
  • Prospect and locate clients within and outside of the Credit Union's membership. Partners with branch staff to market the financial planning products and services of the Credit Union.
  • Keeps informed of industry product trends, identifies opportunities for improvement and make recommendations to management.
  • Participate in industry conferences and seminars to expand knowledge and network with potential clients.


  • Financial Planning Administration:
  • Processes investment transactions by accurately and fully completing required documentation/forms.
  • Ensures appropriate market transactions are executed.
  • Maintains client information in databased.
  • Adheres to established policies, procedures and regulations.
  • Identifies process changes aimed at enhancing position and/or department efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Provides guidance and support to FP support team in required documentation, process and policy.


  • Leadership & Teamwork: Collaborates within branch team environment to proactively build investment business to achieve established goals. Includes joint marketing initiatives and inter-department referrals.
  • Financial planning resource to the Credit Union branch staff.
  • Proactively seeks ways for the financial planning division to contribute to corporate results including submitting ideas and suggestions.
  • Supports any corporate initiatives.
  • Supports Manager in achieving the overall Wealth Management plans.


Technical Knowledge & Application

  • Solid computer skills in Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word, Excel PowerPoint, Internet
  • Skill in using Credit Union financial planning system.
  • Client relationship management (CRM)


Personal & Professional Development:

  • Completion of post-secondary Diploma or Degree in business related discipline is strongly preferred (Business Administration, Commerce, Fellow of the CUIC).
  • CFP (Certified Financial Planner) or other related professional designation/degree earned or in progress.
  • Successful completion of the Canadian Securities Course, Conduct and Practices Handbook examination and Insurance Council of B.C. Insurance Licensing Exams.
  • 5+ years of relevant and proven financial planning knowledge within financial services industry.
