The Instrumentation and Controls Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing control systems and electrical equipment within our automated facility. Success in this role means contributing to a quality-driven, safety-first environment while delivering exceptional results for our customers.
Responsibilities
- Perform Maintenance: Conduct routine and preventive maintenance on instrumentation and controls infrastructure, electrical systems, machinery, and equipment. Diagnose and repair electrical issues, including PLCs, control logic, motors, drives, and other automated equipment.
- Read and Interpret Schematics: Use electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals to identify and address electrical problems.
- Install and Test Systems: Install, test, and calibrate electrical systems and components in compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
- Collaborate on Schedules: Work with the maintenance team to develop and implement maintenance schedules and procedures.
- Maintain Records: Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, inspections, and repairs.
- Work in a manufacturing environment exposed to noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
- Stand, walk, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
- Availability to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Minimum Requirements:
- Diploma in Industrial Control Technology.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in an industrial setting, performing electrical maintenance.
- Knowledge of electrical systems, PLCs, motors, drives, and automation equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
- Proficient in using electrical testing and diagnostic equipment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong commitment to safety and adherence to safety regulations.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Good communication and documentation skills.
- Willingness to work in cross functional teams.
- Technical diploma or certification in instrumentation and controls with Red Seal or willingness to obtain.
