We’re recruiting to fill an internship position with the Market Development Division to help our Province promote, increase awareness, and consumption of Nova Scotia seafood.

Primary Accountabilities
As the Junior Seafood Marketing Officer with the Department of Fisheries & Aquaculture, you will have the opportunity to:
Applicants must have graduated from a post-secondary institute (such as a university or college) with a focus on marketing, communications, or public relations within the past 3 years of their application.

Primary Accountabilities
As the Junior Seafood Marketing Officer with the Department of Fisheries & Aquaculture, you will have the opportunity to:
- Learn about market development and participate in planning and implementing market development events/initiatives to support Nova Scotia Seafood businesses and their premium products.
- Support the continued development of our NS Seafood brand (nsseafood.com) website, and development of collateral marketing materials while promoting NS Seafood.
- Assist the Seafood Marketing Officer with developing engaging content for the NS Seafood brand's social media platforms, such as LinkedIn, Instagram and Facebook, aimed at promoting the seafood industry and increasing the awareness of NS seafood.
- Assist with graphic design of marketing materials such as posters, infographics, banners, postcards, social media posts, presentations.
- Provide trade mission and logistics planning support.
- Analyze social media metrics to optimize our social media presence.
Applicants must have graduated from a post-secondary institute (such as a university or college) with a focus on marketing, communications, or public relations within the past 3 years of their application.
To be successful within this role you will also have:
- Sound knowledge and understanding of social media platforms;
- Graphic design and video editing experience, website content management systems, and social media scheduling software;
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and other design software.
- Project management and organizational skills with a demonstrated ability to work effectively in a deadline- driven environment;
- Good interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with others;
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with experience in writing and presenting clear, concise documents to a range of audiences.

- Well-developed computer skills in a variety of software applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Knowledge of the seafood industry is considered an asset for this position
