About The Role
- Supporting senior engineers in preliminary and detailed design of materials handling equipment including conveyors, transfers and chutes, handling a variety of bulk materials.
- Performing calculations for design of material handling system.
- Support senior engineers in guiding mechanical designers to produce technical drawings to layout and communicate technical requirements to contractors for construction.
- Execute and deliver projects in varying size and complexity in local, national and international locations.
- Prepare technical specifications, documents and reports as needed for the project.
- Participate in detailed field inspections of existing materials handling equipment to identify deficiencies or operational concerns, including motion checks and documentation of findings in a report.
- A university degree in Engineering or Applied Sciences.
- Knowledge of 2D design/drafting software (AutoCAD or similar) and 3D design / drafting software (Solidworks or similar).
- Up to 3 years’ experience working in mechanical engineering, preference for experience within consulting engineering company environment. Experience on materials handling projects is considered an asset.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and experience preparing reports and drawings.
- Fluency in another language, preferably either French or Spanish would be considered an asset.
- The ability to meet the challenge of tight deadlines and providing exceptional service to our clients is a must.
